First Dutch-Belgian LIFE Meeting

The first Dutch-Belgian LIFE Meeting in September 2024 saw lively discussions surrounding instrumentation and science talks. The goal of the meeting was to bring together the growing Belgian and Dutch LIFE communities. During the day the mission PI Sascha Quanz and Co-PI Adrian Glauser introduced the mission and current development, Tim Lichtenberg, Stefan Kraus, and Floris van der Tak outlined the scientific activities of the LIFE team and the Dutch contributions and mission involvement. Contributions from Michiel Min (SRON) and Eleonora Alei (NASA) covered the connection with HWO. Local contributions by Jerome Loicq, Pieter de Visser, Robert Huisman,  and Joost van den Born focused on the starting and ongoing instrumentation activities in the Netherlands, inlcuding the development of KID detectors and the recently selected instrumentation study on hysteretic deformable mirrors. In summary, the meeting showed the growing support and enthusiasm of the Dutch-Belgian LIFE community and the huge potential for increasing collaborations. In the future, further opportunities for local and national collaborations on upcoming projects and grant submissions are planned.
